On the site of the former Chineham Park Primary School in Basingstoke, work has started on site on the construction of a brand new SEN school, catering for the individual needs of children between the ages of 5 and 16. The new special school has been created to meet the future demand for places for pupils with a social communication need or autistic spectrum disorder. The school has been named The Austen Academy and will be operated by the Catch 22 Academy Trust. The final design has been progressed by a Design & Build team headed up by Interserve which includes ourselves, Noviun Architects and Rentec, all in close collaboration with Hampshire County Council. Interserve have established their site compound, completed the enabling works and are currently pouring concrete for the foundations in preparation for erecting the structural steel frame.
