We’re looking to promote growth from within at Calcinotto and have enrolled in a few apprenticeship schemes. It’s a great way to break into the industry and continue your engineering pursuits…

Overview

Calcinotto offers apprenticeships, in collaboration with Portsmouth University for a BEng (Hons) with an IEng accreditation, over five years. The apprenticeship is a work-based qualification, with students attending a study day at university, one day a week. An additional 7.5 hours of study time is allowed in normal working hours, as required by the course and apprenticeship contract. During this time, we support our apprentices, providing advice, mentoring and tailored, relevant engineering design work.

The role of an apprentice includes supporting the team in both technical and engineering tasks, working with senior engineers and Mentor to enhance practical and theoretical learning. Apprentices will assist structural technicians, learn drafting techniques and help maintain project documentation.

Structured, pre-determined one-to-one Mentor sessions, to assess progress and standards, will be carried out, with weekly wellbeing check-ins.
