We’re looking for an experienced hand in our Civil Department, to join our growing team in Poole. Are you passionate about taking responsibilty for innovative, elegant and robust solutions for complex construction projects?

Overview

As project demands rise at Calcinotto, we are expanding the team accordingly. We’re looking for an experienced Senior Infrastructure Technician, candidates with 5 years of experience in engineering and proficiency in AutoCAD. This role offers a chance to work on varied and intricate building projects, aiding us in providing innovative solutions to our clients.

Senior Infrastructure Technician

Leading the design and analysis of major civil engineering projects, providing expert consultation and technical leadership, and ensuring design and operational excellence in all civil engineering activities. Takes part in leading the Technician team and oversees all software toolsets.

General Responsibilities & Daily Activities

  • Provide technical support to engineers in the design and analysis of building structures.
  • Utilise Site3D and AutoCAD to create detailed drawings and 3D models.
  • Prepare and maintain accurate project documentation, ensuring all drawings and models meet industry standards and client specifications.
  • Work closely with engineers and other team members to develop and refine full building models, addressing complex design and planning issues.
  • Ensure all outputs comply with quality assurance procedures and industry standards.

Your skills and experience

Requirements

  • An HND, HNC, or equivalent qualification in a relevant field is preferred but not essential.
  • 5 years of experience in an engineering environment.
  • Experience in residential, commercial/industrial, highways / estate road design..

Technical Skills

  • Proficient in Civil 3D and Site 3D geometric modelling including earthworks (cut/fill optimisation), highways and development design.
  • Excellent ACAD 2D Drafting Skills
  • Drawing Management and control – use of wide range of extranet document management systems
  • Ability to produce detailed drawings and 3D models.
  • Familiarity with other design software is also advantageous.

Key Skills

  • Ability to liaise with a broad range of stakeholders is essential.
  • Experience working collaboratively with engineers and design teams.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and a commitment to producing high-quality work.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal [English and Numeracy]
  • Competent in using Microsoft Office programs.
