We are seeking a passionate Structural Engineer to join our expanding team in Poole. Do you thrive on developing innovative, elegant, and resilient engineering solutions for complex construction projects?

Overview

Due to an expanding workload, we require a Structural Engineer with 3-4 years of experience within a structural engineering consultancy. The successful candidate should have working knowledge of the latest structural design programs (such as Tekla Structural Design, Masterseries, SCIA) and will join our forward-thinking consulting engineering firm. This role offers the opportunity to work on high-profile and complex building structures projects, collaborating with in-house civil engineers and various external consultants. Depending on seniority & experience your job role will be as follows:

Principal Structural Engineer

Leading the structural design and analysis for complex engineering projects, while also reviewing, approving, and finalising all engineering deliverables, and mentoring and guiding team members to achieve technical excellence.

Senior Structural Engineer

Designing structural components for various projects, coordinating with other engineers and project engineers, to ensure integration of all project elements, and supervising and mentoring less experienced engineers.

Structural Engineer

Designing, analysing, and documenting structural systems, ensuring compliance with standards. Support senior engineers, perform calculations, draft documents, and contribute to problem-solving discussions. Our structural engineers work closely with the technicians to ensure everyone is on the same page.

General Responsibilities & Daily Activities

  • Work collaboratively with in-house civil engineers and external consultants as part of a design team.
  • Utilise advanced structural design programs to contribute to high-performance building structure projects.
  • Develop economic, sustainable, and high-performance solutions for clients using innovative design principles and advanced modelling technology.
  • Participate in the development of full building models with engineers and technicians to resolve complex planning and design issues.

Your skills and experience

Requirements

  • Proficiency in structural design programs such as Tekla Structural Design, Masterseries, SCIA.
  • Ability to work on high-profile and complex building structures projects.
  • Experience working collaboratively with civil engineers and external consultants.

Key Skills

  • Experience in delegating and managing resources. (Principal)
  • Excellent communication and written skills with the ability to compile and check reports and apply QA procedures.
  • Competent in using Microsoft Office programs.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and strong presentation skills.
  • Ability to liaise with a broad range of stakeholders is essential.
