Firestone LDN is a new HQ set in Brentford, and is a redevelopment of the existing West Cross Industrial Park site, set to be opened Q4 2025.
Challenge
Redeveloping a cultural landmark
This development pays homage to the iconic previous Firestone building by blending Art Deco heritage whilst paying attention to sustainability concerns.
Firestone’s design incorporates a full-height glazed frontage and stepped entranceway, much like the original – even the original façade has been abstracted to a modern grid structure. This design is also aligned to the London Plan, and with the environmental ambitions of Legal & General and the London Borough of Hounslow.
Solution
The site has been set across nearly 90,000 sq. ft. and features six dock-level loading doors, two euro docks, two level-access doors and a 67-space car park with additional 62 cycle bays and allocated EV charging. Inside the facility, a two-storey office is powered by fully electric energy, using photovoltaic panels, meeting a BREAAM ‘Excellent’ standard whilst also aligning with UK Green Building Council’s ‘Net Zero Carbon’ Standard.
