Kingston Maurward
Reflecting the beauty of natural surroundings
Located on the outskirts of Dorchester, within the beautiful grounds of a historic Georgian stately house, Kingston Maurward College provides a wide range of courses. The College is primarily concerned with Agricultural skills such as Equine studies, Horticulture and Animal Conservation. Funded through the Scape framework, these projects were carried out by construction experts, Kier, working alongside Calcinotto and Dorchester architects A & Q Partnership.

Coneygear Centre
Blending modern design with traditional charm
The Coneygear Centre was completed on schedule and replaces outdated and cramped facilities with their state-of-the-art resources. The centre boasts a new purpose-built teaching facility housing five classrooms, an ICT suite, dog grooming salon, rooms for small mammals, reptiles and amphibians, a specialist aquatic teaching area, offices and even welfare facilities! The design incorporates a steel portal frame, structural deck and a composite walling system, clad with Siberian larch timber boarding and a large array of Solar panels on the roof.

Dorset Studio School
Merging elegance with practicality
This £3.5million purpose-built facility came about from a recent government initiative to provide a network of 44 schools across England to help prepare young people for the workplace. This was achieved by involving employers in all aspects of the school, including forming the curriculum, mentoring and even providing work placements.
The aim of the Dorset Studio School building was to provide a specialist environment for land-based sciences in a vocational and academic format for students between 14 and 19 years old. This project was partnered with another local education facility — Thomas Hardye School, also located in Dorchester, to provide a range of GCSE’s, A-levels and other vocational qualifications. The new building houses several classrooms, an ICT suite, an open plan studio space, a greenhouse and specialist science classrooms able to cater for 200 students.
