Overview
Overview
As project workload increases at Calcinotto, so should our workforce. The ideal candidate will have 2-3 years of experience in a structural engineering environment and possess proficiency in TSD & Revit. This role provides an excellent opportunity to work on diverse and complex building structures, contributing to our goal of delivering innovative and high-performance solutions for our clients. Depending on your experience and seniority, you will take on the role of one of the following:
Senior Structural Technician
Producing detailed drawings and specifications for structural components, coordinating with engineers to clarify design details and resolve discrepancies, and reviewing and updating drawings and databases as project requirements evolve.
Structural Technician
Assisting in the creation and revision of design drawings and models, collecting, and analysing data under the direction of a senior technician or engineer, and maintaining project documentation while aiding in the quality control of designs. Works closely with structural engineers.
Apprentice Technician – View apprenticeships
Supporting structural technicians in their daily tasks, learning drafting techniques and standards, and assisting in the maintenance of project files and documentation. Spends 1 day a week at university.
General Responsibilities & Daily Activities
- Provide technical support to structural engineers in the design and analysis of building structures.
- Utilise TSD and Revit to create detailed structural drawings and 3D models.
- Prepare and maintain accurate project documentation, ensuring all drawings and models meet industry standards and client specifications.
- Work closely with engineers and other team members to develop and refine full building models, addressing complex design and planning issues.
- Ensure all outputs comply with quality assurance procedures and industry standards.

Requirements
- An HND, HNC, or equivalent qualification in a relevant field is preferred but not essential.
- 2-3 years of experience in a structural engineering environment.
Technical Skills
- Proficiency in AutoCAD and Revit.
- Ability to produce detailed structural drawings and 3D models.
- Familiarity with other structural design software is advantageous.
Key Skills
- Experience working collaboratively with engineers and design teams.
- Exceptional attention to detail and a commitment to producing high-quality work.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
